It’s been a while since we announce the plan. Over the past few weeks, we have built the prototypes on both xDAI and Matic and decided we should give xDAI a try. We already ported our system on xDAI now, and please give it a try if you’re interested:
I’m looking forward to mainnet on xDAI. I still think this is the right way to go in the short term.
The battle between Optimistic Rollup and zkRollup is ongoing and one of these will be the L2 tech for the future. I think zkRollup will be the “winner”.
Curve is trying out zkSync:
This looks very promising. They have a new programming language Zink. Not turing complete yet, but coming soon. By then, it will be easier to convert Solidity to Zink.
Matter Labs seem more open source than StarkWare. Looks like they are creating an open platform for zkRollups whereas StarkWare is developing commercial software. This is just my personal observation, and I might be completely wrong.
